This is the story of the Rotary Arabic Publications

Rotary International took the wise and historical decision to support the printing and distribution of 12 essential Rotary publications into Arabic language.

RI Board of Directors’ decision - November 2007

 

"Coincidentally, additional support in this area [translation for Rotary publications] recently came from the RI Board of Directors who took the decision in November 2007 to have Rotary International produce in-house a very limited of publications into Arabic. The RI Board included Arabic as one of ten additional languages into which RI will translate and produce documents deemed necessary to the introduction of Rotary into new countries or to support membership development and growth." RI Official Language: English.

RI Major Languages [40000 Rotarians]

French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Hindi.

RI Additional Languages [12 Essential Publications printing and distributing]: Districts in

Finland, The Netherlands, Taiwan, Thailand [November 2000]

and

Arab speaking countries in District 2450 and District 9010:

Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania . [November 2007]
