Rotary International Publications in Arabic

In Brief – Daily News [Page 6 - May 3, 2008] - 72nd RI District 2450 Conference – Beirut Lebanon 1st – 4th May 2008

Michel P. JAZZAR -  RC Zgharta-Zawié – Lebanon – D.2450

LA: What made you take this decision?

MJ: I believe that society is a language and Rotary International has that respect for different cultures and languages.

LA: How does this benefit Rotary International?

MJ: 300 million people Arabic and in order to spread Rotary International’s philosophy and ethic, publications need to talk to this vast population. After all, Arabic is considered the language that came from Above and, as a Rotarian, if we want to converse with this population, we need to understand and love the culture.

LA: What is the main reason behind these publications?

MJ: The main reason for these publications is to help us develop Rotary International in Rotary and non-Rotary countries. It is a way of bridging the gap, creating communication and spreading the Rotary values to the new generations to come.
